For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heavenEcclesiastes 3:1, ESV
Walnut Ridge is excited to share that our search for a new Director is over, but sad to announce the departure of Jon and Corinne Johnson. The ministry has revived and grown under the faithful service of Jon and Corinne, but now it is their appointed time to move on as they follow the Lord's calling for their lives. They will continue to be a part of WRRC's ministry on a voluntary basis.
Taking up stewardship of WRRC as the new Director is Seth Wright, a veteran in the Christian Camping ministry. His first camp experience was as a summer camp counselor in western North Carolina, during which time he was convicted in his heart and became a born-again believer. In his final summer, Seth felt the Lord calling him into full-time camp ministry. He answered the call by moving to north Georgia and serving his first two years at a youth camp in the area.
Since then, Seth has served at two other camps, both in California, for another three years. In his second year in California, Seth met his wife, Paige. They were married in 2019, and are expecting their firstborn this fall. Seth and Paige moved from California near the beginning of June to begin their tenure at Walnut Ridge, and will fully take the reins in the beginning of July. We look forward to seeing how far Seth takes the ministry at Walnut Ridge with his strengths in leadership, innovation, and service.
Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sowLuke 12:22-24, ESV
nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!
Even with the effects of Coronavirus on camps and conference centers nationwide, Walnut Ridge Retreat Center is growing. Now as we begin to reopen and serve more and more guests, we are trusting the Lord's timing and are doing our due diligence to protect the health and safety of our guests by increasing our sanitization measures between groups. If your retreat plans this summer were affected by Covid-19, we are open and we would be happy to serve you. Call our office to discuss availability.
